The Third Times Square Peace Campaign delivers a global message from the heart of New York City: “No war in Korea. No war anywhere. End all wars.” Jointly organized by Korea Peace Action, KPA, and the Korean American Peace Fund, KAPF, the campaign calls for a formal end to the Korean War, lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula, and an end to wars and armed conflicts around the world. This year’s campaign expands upon the message of the previous campaigns with a broader call for peace: “No War Everywhere.” According to campaign materials, ongoing wars and military conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine, and areas affected by tensions involving Iran have resulted in more than half a million deaths. An estimated 700 to 900 billion dollars has been spent on military operations. These lives and resources could instead have supported schools, hospitals, homes, public safety, and a more secure future. By displaying this message in Times Square, one of the most visited places in the world, the campaign encourages people and governments to choose dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful solutions instead of war. The promotional videos from the first and second Times Square Peace Campaigns have received more than 400,000 views. The Third Times Square Peace Campaign aims to share its message of peace with an additional 200,000 people. The previous campaign focused on formally ending the Korean War and establishing a peace agreement. This year’s campaign extends that message to call for an end to wars and armed conflicts everywhere. The campaign video and message are also scheduled to be delivered to the offices of all 435 members of the United States House of Representatives, all 100 United States senators, and all 300 members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. Through this effort, the organizers seek to inform policymakers about the importance of peace on the Korean Peninsula and encourage meaningful action toward ending war. On June 3, 2026, APA VOICE (Asian Pacific Americans Voting & Organizing to Increase Civic Engagement), together with community partners, hosted a nonpartisan candidate forum for New York State Senate District 27 and State Assembly District 65 at the Manny Cantor Center in Manhattan's Lower East Side. More than 120 local residents attended the event to hear directly from candidates and learn about issues affecting their communities ahead of the upcoming election. Simultaneous interpretation was provided in Cantonese, Mandarin, and American Sign Language (ASL), helping ensure broad community participation. The forum was moderated by John Chin, Dean of the Asian American/Asian Research Institute (AAARI) at the City University of New York (CUNY). Candidates addressed topics including housing, public safety, education, immigration, community services, and civic engagement. Participating candidates included Assembly District 65 candidates Grace Lee and Yuh-Line Niou, along with State Senate District 27 candidates Mariama N.
