The band Nooneun Jido held the Yoon Dong-ju 79th Memorial Concert on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 6 PM at the Barrymore Film Center in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Yoon Dong-ju was a poet who died in a Japanese prison on February 16, 1945, at the age of 27, under accusations related to Korea’s independence movement. His poetry continues to resonate deeply, reflecting conscience, resistance, and the spirit of his time. Since 2007, Nooneun Jido has been performing memorial concerts by setting Yoon Dong-ju’s poems to music, with performances across New Jersey, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Canada, Korea, Japan, and China. KACE (Korean American Civic Empowerment) presents the findings from the 2025 Korean American Youth Identity Survey (KAYIS). The results show that many students feel a strong sense of belonging to the unique identity of "Korean American," rather than identifying solely as "American" or "Korean."
