According to AAF, Asian immigrants represent nearly 30 percent of New York City's non-citizen population, yet organizations serving these communities remain significantly under-resourced. Community advocates stressed that language barriers and lack of access to reliable legal information leave many families vulnerable during a time of increasing uncertainty. What is the RISE Network? The Rapid Immigrant Support and Empowerment (RISE) Network is a coalition of 15 Asian-led community organizations serving more than 1.5 million Asian American residents throughout New York City. The network provides: • Immigration legal consultations • Citizenship and green card application assistance • Know Your Rights education • Case management services • Emergency response support • Multilingual interpretation and translation services Services are offered in more than 12 Asian languages, including Korean, Chinese, Bengali, and others, helping immigrants access critical legal resources in their native languages. Since January, RISE Network partners have already served more than 2,200 clients. However, many organizations report that they are approaching or have already reached their service capacity due to increasing demand. Call for Increased Investment AAF and RISE Network partners are calling on New York City to increase funding for the Asian American Community Legal Services Initiative to $3.5 million in the Fiscal Year 2027 budget.
